1. What legality is

legality is a Claude Code plugin and Model Context Protocol server. It does two things under Indian jurisdiction. It runs an AI-first analysis of contract text and returns structured risk findings. It schedules a 30-minute paid consultation with a Bar Council of India verified advocate via a Cal.com booking page at claudelaw.ai.

2. legality is not a law firm

legality is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice. The AI analysis pipeline produces general legal information sourced from Indian statute and case law. Treat the output as a starting point, not a binding opinion. For legal advice on your matter, consult a licensed advocate.

3. Advocate consultations

Advocates listed in legality are independent Bar Council of India registered professionals. They are not employees or agents of legality. The advocate-client relationship is formed directly between you and the advocate at the time of consultation. legality acts as the introduction platform.

4. Fees and payment

legality charges you a platform service fee for AI analysis, advocate matching, scheduling, and platform infrastructure. The consultation fee is set by the advocate and is paid in full to the advocate, net of any tax deducted at source applicable under Indian law. We never deduct a referral commission from the advocate's side. Bar Council of India Rule 36 prohibits referral commissions; our model is a user-side service fee, not a referral cut.

For V0 the consultation fee is invoiced out-of-band (UPI / bank transfer / manual). Razorpay or equivalent payment rail layers on once probe demand validates.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel a scheduled consultation up to 24 hours before the slot. Refunds for cancellations within 24 hours are at the advocate's discretion. The platform service fee is non-refundable once the consultation is scheduled.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Recommendations and reputation

After a completed consultation you may submit a signed recommendation. Each (advocate, your government ID hash) pair may submit at most one recommendation. Recommendations are append-only and cryptographically signed by legality. Revocation occurs only by court order of competent jurisdiction.

8. Data handling

See the privacy policy at /privacy for what we collect, how it flows, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, legality and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or from the conduct of advocates listed on the platform. Total liability for any direct claim is limited to the platform service fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The AI analysis output is general information. legality and its operators are not liable for decisions you make based on the output without consulting a licensed advocate.
